Minister for Civil Supplies Paritala Sunitha on Thursday promised to place an order for 10 lakh jute bags to a unit being run by self-help group women at Kothapet in Kurnool on Thursday.
The Minister visited the unit and inspected the jute bags ordered by the Srisailam Devasthanam and the gift bags being readied for Chandranna Kanuka programme.
She enquired about jute yarn procurement and colourful prints on the bags. Imparting of training and starting such centres would help the economic development of self-help group women, she said.
