Ula Mohamed Khalil started a Breast Cancer awareness initiative, called Busma, after witnessing her mother suffering from the disease. With the help of a small group of friends, Ula’s initiative grew quickly to include youth as young as thirteen. In just two years, the initiative was successful in spreading awareness about the dangers of breast cancer to society as a whole. Through public events and school visits, she was able to reach thousands and fund more than 300 mammograms. She believes that youth can be moved if they know the value of diligent work, innovation, and creating impact through shared effort. To Ula, volunteerism has become one of the best sources of motivation and positive outcomes in her life.
