E.T for the Atari 2600 is regularly cited as one of the worst games ever made. (and yes, some copies actually were found buried in the New Mexico desert) But, after playing it a bit for myself, and looking more into its development, I really think that this game was ALMOST awesome. It was developed in only five weeks by one of Atari's star developers and contained some really cool gameplay features that had never been seen before. Such as a proper title screen on a home game, an ending cutscene, randomly ordered world, and multiple ways to complete the game. Sounds like a good recipe for a game, right? Well, too bad that recipe had to be made in one-twentieth the development time for most Atari games. So, today I want to cut the game some slack and see if I can make some suggestions to fix it's few massive issues.
Special thanks to Supergreatfriend for some of the gameplay!
