This means that the file remains in its original location and any changes made to it are reflected in Access. This method saves space and improves performance, but it requires that the file is always accessible from the same path. To link a file, you can use the Insert Object dialog box or drag and drop the file from Windows Explorer to a form or report while holding down the Shift key.
- Storing: This method involves storing the file as binary data in an attachment field or a long binary data (BLOB) field.
