Title: Dynamics of inbreeding and genetic rescue in the Scandinavian arctic fox
Abstract:
In this talk I will introduce myself to you and present the work I did during my PhD-studies at Stockholm University in Sweden. During my PhD I used both traditional and modern genetic techniques to study how micro evolutionary processes interplay in the light of population fragmentation and small population size. More specifically, I examined the genetic and fitness effects of inbreeding and gene flow in a wild and endangered population subjected to fluctuating resource conditions, the arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) in Scandinavia.
