Why doesn't space suck up the Atmosphere?
It is because the vacuum does not pull anything toward it. It is rather the outer pressure that pushes the things into a vacuum because the vacuum has zero pressure.
But in the case of the atmosphere, the pressure difference is essentially zero on the boundary and therefore the air is not pushed into space.
Also, Gravity holds up the atmosphere close to Earth making it impossible to diffuse into space.
