These days, it's very common to see producers make a “tight Q” on a digital EQ of some kind, and completely remove bands of frequencies.
The problem with this is that sounds are drynamic, meaning the frequency response changes over time with different notes and intensities, which means those EQ “notches” only fix the sound at certain points.
At other points, you might need the frequencies you removed in order to keep it sounding natural. So today we're looking at a great way to handle sonic unpleasantness!
