15 August 2015, Makalidurga, KA.
Trains are huge, but then even they are look absolutely tiny when they pass by hills and mountains on their route. One such location is Makalidurga, where the Dharmavaram-Bangalore section of South Western Railway climbs the Makali Ghats.
On this day, twin WDG4s from Gooty, 12496 and 12576 pull a loaded BCNHL rake up the ghats with all their might, making for a great aural treat. Those V16 EMD engines sure know how to put up a show. I wasn't very well prepared for this shot and angle, but did what I could to show this famous hill as best as I could. Enjoy!
