Day 2 of my 12 Day trip to Japan (15 Nov 2022)
Took a day trip to Kyoto. I visited 3 popular places in Kyoto: Arashiyama, Kinkauji Golden Pavilion and Kiyomizu Temple.
While at Arashiyama, I visited the Arashiyama observation deck and bamboo groves. I also stumbled upon the free area of Tenryuji Temple where the autumn leaves were in Peak Season.
After that, I went to Kinkakuji Temple to see the Golden Pavilion. The maple leaves were bright orange there too.
Finally, I went to Kiyomizu Temple, just before sunset. Of all the 3 spots, this was the most crowded, especially at the wooden stage. Part of the canopy has turned orange but mostly was still green.
At Arashiyama, I also tried a stick of beef (Y700) and Yakitori (Y500) at a riverside stall for breakfast The meat was tender but a little salty.
