Mrs. Behnaz S. Todiwala (@todiwalabehnaz ), a powerhouse multitalented woman, Devotee of Lord Shiva and the Art Director and Founder of Utkarsh Dance Academy LLP (@utkarshdanceacademy ) who has been practicing and teaching Bharatnatyam classical dance form since last 39 years and with her group mostly consisting of young girls and women has held the flag upright and made her country proud on many international stages n festivals all across the world.
She is a ‘Gold Medallist’ in B.A (Visharad) and M.A (Alankar) in Bharatnatyam and In 1994, she initiated by starting her own Dance Academy in the name of Utkarsh Bharatnatyam, an Academy which eventually evolved into Utkarsh Dance Academy LLP in 2014.
She has trained more than 5500 students under her Professional guidance and is the 1st to introduce the Concept of Group Arangetram in the field of Bharatnatyam in Surat to
make it affordable for middle class people.
Her academy is also an active member of “C.I.O.F.F. India Section – an official partner of UNESCO” and of “EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF FOLKLORE FESTIVALS (EAFF) – an official partner of UNESCO”.
From 1998, more than 1000 students of UDA have represented India at many International Children and Youth Folklore festivals in countries like China, USA, Greece, Italy, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Korea, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal and many more.
