Stihl TS 420 concrete saw ran WITHOUT OIL and thats why we disassemble it completely. It was runnig for about 2 hours until it suddenly stopped and the puller rope feels like the piston is stuck.
We start to take the clutch cover off. Next is the big front part where the cutting disk sits in. To take the big handel off its a few screws and springs, then we can pull it apart. Afterwards many screws which hold the covers and so on need to go. The air filter cover and some other plastic stuff like the handle can be removed. So we work ourselves further into the machine until we reach the cylinder and carburetor. To take the carburattor out I figure out its the easiest to take the two main parts with the gas tank and the cylinder apart. To do so we have to remove some hoses and screws. Then the two big parts come apart and we can finally disassemble the cylinder, piston and crankshaft. To take the crankshaft out and split the crank cases we have to remove the clutch and flywheel. With some heating action and hammer motivation the cases come apart and we can remove the crank shaft.
Because I want to make sure that the fuel air mixture is right when all parts are new we also disassemble the carbs to check the gaskets and membranes inside.
Finally with all parts seperated on the bench we have a look at all of them to see what needs to be ordered and replaced.
