This beautiful dancing Shiva depicts Shiva during his dance of destruction as he simultaneously destroys and recreates the world. His dread locked hair is spread wide depicting the violence and force of his dance as he whirls with tremendous speed destroying all in his path. The destruction Shiva leaves in his wake leads to new beginnings as life springs anew from the ashes that he leaves behind. Shiva dances on the dwarf Apasmara, who represents evil forces in the world. The dwarf is beautifully rendered. He holds a knife and a cobra.
