Here is a detailed guide on Auroville which is an Experimental Township and a visit to the Inner chamber of Matrimandir.
MATRIMANDIR INNER CHAMBER - BOOKING PROCESS :
In Pondicherry, you must visit the Matrimandir Inner Chamber! A free pass to the Matrimandir viewing point is available at the Visitors Centre in Auroville after watching a short introductory video on the Matrimandir.
But, I highly recommend visiting the inner chamber for which bookings need to be done at least 3 to 7 days in advance from Auroville’s official website.
The visit to the Matrimandir view point and the inner chamber is free and no charges are involved.
Timing for viewing point : Every day, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (starting from the visitor’s centre) except Tuesdays & Sundays.

1. The reporting time will be mentioned in the email and you have to be available at the Visitors Centre on the particular date and time.
Same-day booking is not possible to visit the inner chamber.
2. The booking link is available on the website from IST 7 a.m. to 12 noon each day from Wednesday through Monday. Tuesday is a weekly day off when the system will be inoperative.
3. Log on to the website and click on ‘visit Matrimandir’. Follow the instructions for the registration. You have to fill up some basic details and once the registration is final, you will receive an email confirming that along with all the details of the visit within 48 hours of the registration.

5. Booking has to be done 3 to 7 days in advance.
You are taken through a whole process to enter the inner chamber and sit for meditation in peace. The experience is so valuable that you would want to revisit it for sure!
