Exhaust camshaft was replaced due to a loud ticking noice after coldstart.
Engine sounds very healthy now. All work was done free of charge from BMW.
Car is a F80 M3 Competition 10/2018 with 71.000 km.
I would highly advise to do the repair, especially if it's still under warranty. There is a specific service case for this issue, so chances are good that it will get repaired free of charge even after warranty period (at least in Germany).
