Henri IV’s Second Son: Nicolas of France (Fontainebleau, April 13, 1607 – Saint-Germain-en-Laye, November 17, 1611), was a French prince of the House of Bourbon. He received the titles of son of France and Duke of Orleans, being the second son of the four children of Henry IV of France and Marie de Medici. Nicolas was briefly heir to the thrones of France and Navarre, after the death of his father, during the reign of Louis XIII. His name Nicolas is actually a historical error, since this prince died without receiving a proper name.
