Hello Friends
I Am explorer A
Now let me give you some information on Kuwait Red fort
Kuwait Red fort is located in Jahra area of Kuwait, it is also known as red palace & Qasr al Ahmar in Arabic language. It is around 40 KM from Kuwait City, visiting hour of this fort is from 8:30 Am to 12:30 PM and from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, this timing are from Monday to Saturday, and on Friday there timings is 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, On Sunday they are closed0
This fort was built in 1897. Its primary purpose was the defense of agriculture in Al-Jahra. This fort has 4 towers, which are built with bricks made from mud mixed with local desert shrubs. The towers were designed to give infantrymen a view and line of fire in all directions. The walls around the fort house firing holes for infantrymen and sharpshooters. The fort is almost square, surrounded by a wall about 15 feet high and 2 feet thick, and houses thirty-three rooms and six courtyards. The fort is around 60,720 square feet. The eastern and western walls are 289 and 298 feet long respectively. The northern and southern walls are 211 and 203 feet long respectively.
This fort also has a well in the center, but its water is salty and not drinkable. During the battle of Jahra, well water was used to treat the wounded and was drunk mixed with date palm to sweeten the taste.
As per my opinion this fort is a must visit place to experience the defense strategy in 19th century. The grand Red Fort is a fine example of early Kuwaiti architecture .So, all you who are history lovers, for them this is a paradise, to collect full historical data on defense. This fort is recommended to visit by full families also, as children will love the statue of animal which are been placed all around the fort
