British Prime Minister Theresa May has laid out her bold terms for Brexit,... saying the UK won't hold on to "bits" of the European Union and will exit the single market.
Giving more details of her government's plans to leave the EU on Tuesday, Prime Minister May said Britain would aim instead to achieve the "greatest possible access" to the single market -- the tariff-free EU trading bloc that demands free movement of people -- through a "bold new free trade agreement".
She added that the final deal reached between Britain and the EU will be put to a vote in the British parliament.
European Council president Donald Tusk said it was sad and surreal,... but at least a more realistic announcement on Brexit.
Britain plans to trigger Article 50 to start the process of leaving the EU in March.
