Note that someone boarded at Grindleford and I overheard them admitting that they were trying to get away with not paying the fare to Hathersage . I informed the conductor and the ticket got sold .

Distance: 42 miles and 5 chains= 42.0625 miles

Value for money = 1/42.0625 = around 2 pence per mile which I consider to be exceptional value for money
