Former England striker Michael Owen says his decision to retire at the end of this season was "very tough" to make.
Owen, who scored 40 goals in 89 internationals, played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Manchester United, and is now at Stoke.
The 33-year-old says the response to his decision has been "very touching" but he is looking forward to a "new chapter" in his life.
