(30 May 2021) Thousands of Brazilians took the streets of Sao Paulo on Saturday to protest against the country's President Jair Bolsonaro.
Chanting and holding signs, protesters marched from Paulista Avenue to downtown calling for the impeachment of Bolsonaro and criticizing the way he is handling the coronavirus pandemic.
So far more than 460,000 people in Brazil have died as a result of the virus.
"I don't know if Brazil will be able to do it, but we have an obligation to remove him from power because he is killing people," protester Jonas Davanco said during the demonstration.
The protests were formed by different social movements including left wing parties and unions.
There were also calls from other demonstrators for further rights for Black indigenous people and women in the country.
