What makes blendOS Special
blendOS has the hability to install and use any app from any of the supported distributions or operating systems.
Here are some of the features of blendOS
blendOS is an immutable operating system. Unlike all other immutable OSes, it uses an overlay system that allows the user to install system packages normally and to roll back to existing snapshot in case of problems.
Hundreds of thousands of apps from various distributions are supported by blendOS. It currently supports the following platforms: Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu
Install applications and packages inside a distribution's containers. Those applications and binaries can be access in your base operating system.
It supports Android apps which can be installed from app stores like F-Droid and the Aurora Store. Then, they can be used like native Linux apps, even with the NVIDIA GPUs. This feature is quite useful for Android app developers whom can test their apps in Android Studio as they were native Linux apps.
Web apps can be used directly in blendOS just like a desktop application. Web applications make by the community can be submitted to the web store.
There are currently 7 supported desktop environments: Cinnamon, deepin, GNOME, KDE Plasma, LXQt, Mate, and Xfce
