Could you, or someone you know, benefit from an adaptive device to compensate for a disability? Perhaps assistance with turning keys, adapting gaming controllers, or carrying items on a wheelchair? Do you have an interest in helping others by making adaptive devices through the use of electronics or 3D Printing?
If so, then join us for an information session with Makers Making Change, a project from Neil Squire, that connects people who could benefit from assistive devices with volunteer makers. Makers Making Change (MMC) is an innovative community-based initiative that connects makers to people with disabilities to create affordable open source assistive technologies. Makers Making Change utilizes emerging technology such as Arduino microcontrollers, 3D printing and laser cutting. The project integrates the culture and communities that surround the open source movement, the maker movement and the crowdsourcing movement.
