8/8 I hiked about 5.5 miles to the Visitor Center/Public restrooms in Sierra City where I founf Bearhug enjoying a coffee. He took me to the trailhead so I would walk back to town to establish my continuous footpath. That was about another mile. We drove to Lone Pine and had showers at the Whitney Portal Hostel. Next we had dinner at the Merry Go Round chinese restaurant. It is our favorite in Lone Pine. Everything is made fresh and delishious. Then we went to the Onion Valley trailhead and camped in our cars.
