Cyclone Remal In West Bengal: West Bengal’s Tajpur witnessed gusty winds on May 27 after the landfall of severe cyclonic storm ‘Remal’ commenced on May 26 evening. The Tajpur beach was less crowded than usual. The cyclonic storm hit between West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts with an intensity of 110 to 120 kmph, gusting to 135 kmph.
As per IMD the cyclonic storm would continue to move nearly northwards for some more time and then north-northeastwards and weaken gradually. “The situation is very uncertain. Anything can happen at any time. We can only tell post tide comes. Wind was blowing very fast and it rained heavily. It will take 2 to 4 days to get back to normalcy.”
