So... What started off as a favour ended up as a costly lesson for us. A local lad asked for some assistance with a video to promote his clothing brand... His request was simple - Some Sexy, Fast Cars. With that in mind... Who were we to refuse - We always come through! 🏆
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Several calls the evening before and we managed to group together a 𝗕𝗠𝗪 𝗶𝟴, 𝗠𝗰𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝟳𝟮𝟬𝘀, 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶 𝗥𝗦𝟳 and Our Own 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗸𝟯 𝗥𝗦.... Sitting pretty at the meet, several hours of fun later is where we encountered our issue... 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗠𝗪 𝗶𝟴 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱! ☠️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After just a few hours with the doors open and people hopping in and out - The vehicle had not only 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 but the Unit that starts the little 𝟭.𝟱 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 too! Now here is where the fun starts - We gave it a go with a 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸, no joy, then the Owner came over to try with the 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 for the Electric Motor... Still no joy. 😔

𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, several calls later and a load of research - What did we find? Well for the i8 Main Electric Battery to charge you need the Auxiliary Battery in Good Health, this one wasn't, furthermore the i8 has a few more tricks up its sleeve, including wanting to see more than 13.3v to even take charge to the Motor Battery! 🤔

After hooking up the 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿, Snap-On of course! We finally managed to 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 and 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻/𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀 and get the BMW i8 from the Car Park! What an Absolute Effort! 🥵

With that being said - It did lead to one positive... The owner, Steve, said '𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 - 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘛𝘶𝘣𝘦?' So why not - Here we are Reviewing, the Good, the Bad and the Indifferent for this BMW i8! 🏆
