Starting for the 1974 model year, the Porsche 911 received the most significant update since it was introduced in 1964. This was the start of the G-body cars that Porsche produced through 1989. These first-generation G-bodies were produced until 1977. Often referred to as "Mid-Year" 911s, they got a bad rap due to engines that experienced problems due to new emissions equipment, but today, they're coming into their own.
