"Rewe Digital really is the driver of innovation for Rewe Group.
We're a bunch of pioneers, looking for the perfect experience of digital supermarket, digital retail.
So in deploying this new pick and go experience in this store, we started off with a small highly dedicated team.
The whole process, of finding the right partner, took roughly about a year.
We traveled the world, spoke to some big tech corporations, also visited many startups,
and then we finally decided on Trigo.
The location that we picked here for our pick and go experience, was decided on before we met Trigo as our partner.
So they really had to tailor the whole experience to the store that we selected.
And with Trigo, we always had a very solution oriented, and pragmatic way of working together.
Michael and Daniel have build a really inspiring company.
They have recruited many talented people, and setup an organizational structure aim for the growth that they want to tackle.
We wanted everything to be minimal invasive.
It has never been like a construction site.
So all the installation work was done in night shifts, as not to interfere with the ongoing business, as the store was open for the customers as usual.
Technology being in this store, and the full store data being digitized, there are a bunch more use cases we can apply in the future, things like inventory management for example.
So the privacy issue, the whole data protection issues, are very sensitive topics in Germany.
And we are a trusted company, and we want our customers to trust us on privacy issues as well.
So Trigo worked with the very strict regulations that we have here in Germany.
For us the main focus really is on autonomous checkout, getting this hybrid solution for our stores.
For the first time we really able to make it a completely frictionless experience."
