Dr. Sarah Lovell presents a general introduction to the concept of agroforestry. She covers the historical roots of agroforestry, as well as contemporary themes for temperate regions. The practices of alley cropping, silvopasture, forest farming, windbreaks, riparian forest buffers, and urban food forests are discussed.
The University of Missouri Center for Agroforestry and the University of Missouri Horticulture and Agroforestry Research Center have joined to host the Mizzou Agroforestry YouTube channel. Our intent is to provide quality video content on temperate agroforestry practices in the Midwest, events taking place at HARC, and research updates from UMCA.
