Kung fu comes from China. The kung fu we train, has more then 1500 years of traditions. It comes from a temple called "Shaolin". Therefore it is called "Shaolin Kung fu". It is some Buddhist monks who train it where it started, as some gymnastics movements. Because they sat and meditated all day, then they started to introduce some gymnastics movements to keep the body healthy and strong.
So it is a lot of combinations that are put together (forms / tao lu) It has both some healing-related things, and strength of body and mind, in addition, all the techniques are also used to defend themselves.
Then you will also see some things being smashed to pieces. This form of exercise is called Qigong, which also is a strengthening of the body, along with some breathing techniques.
Kung fu also consists of a lot of Yoga exercises, so there will also be demonstrated some series that push the boundaries of general agility. In addition, there will also be shown some weapons, as there is also trained with weapons in Kung fu.
Kung fu is the mother of all other martial arts. Martial arts like Karate and Judo derived from Kung fu, that's the way it's been spread out over the years.
