Howling Bluff winemaker Luke Smith jumped into the wine business with both shoes (highly polished) after leaving the finance sector to follow his dream on the Naramata Bench. Today, he wears boots, drives a tractor, and sports one of the wine business's widest smiles. We caught up with him in his favourite pinot noir vineyard, 'Century Block,' an old orchard that once sported over 100 different varieties of apples. Luke updates us on a 2020 vintage that has been challenging, but that looks as if it will have a rewarding ending.
This video is one of eight in our British Columbia Harvest 2020 Series featuring behind-the-scenes looks with winemakers showing off their grapes in their vineyards and on their crush pads from Vancouver Island, to Lake Country.
