Did you know that Blankman was nearly a much more traditional superhero movie? While the film was always intended to be comedic, screenwriters Warrington and Reginald Hudlin wanted to take a very comic book approach to the script. Damon Wayans eventually hired J. F. Lawton, who was facing delays in writing the eventually cancelled Fartman movie for Howard Stern. He and Wayans worked to make the film more about faith and brotherly love, leading to the more wholesome hero comedy we know today.
