New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) signed an executive order today allowing New Yorkers to obtain marriage licenses and perform ceremonies remotely.
Cuomo also announced today that New York, which has been hit hardest by the virus, is continuing to see less hospitalizations, a positive sign that mitigation measures to stem the spread of the disease are working. However, the state is still reporting at least 2,000 hospitalizations a day.
As of Saturday afternoon the state has reported about 230,000 confirmed cases with more than 17,000 deaths.
