How to cook Nyonya Steamed Fish
Ingredient to make Nyonya Steamed Fish
A:
Seabass / siakap (medium sized)
B: Blending ingredients
Shallots
Garlic
Ginger
Lemongrass
Galangal
Soaked dried chilli
Bird’s eye chilli (optional)
Wet Turmeric
Candlenut
C:
Kaffir lime leaves
Oil
Water
Salt
Sugar
Tamarind pulps / juice
Tomato
Brinjal
Okra
Method to do Nyonya Steamed Fish
In a pan, heat oil and saute B till oil splits.
Then slowly add in salt, sugar tamarind juice, kaffir lime leaves.
Lastly, stir in brinjal and off the flame.
Prepare steamer, and place the cleaned fish on a plate and transfer the cooked sambal onto the fish and steam it for about 10 - 15 minutes, then arrange the tomato, okra and continue to steam for few minutes. Nyonya Steamed Fish is ready to serve with hot rice. Enjoy!
