Ice Fishing Conditions Report 1-7-15 I took a drive by Devil's Lake, Baraboo River, Lake Delton and Wisconsin River at Wisconsin Dells to check conditions. Saw 3 shacks on Devil's Lake with 6-7 inches of ice close to South Shore, no real action reported on tip ups. Baraboo River is locked up in most bends - some rapids were still open, and some ducks were congregated in these little pockets of open moving water, Lake Delton is finally locked up with solid ice - I drove out in my Subaru Forester fully loaded with gear and had no issues whatsoever, but of course everyone should drive out on frozen water at their own personal discretion, a couple of "permanent snacks" out and a couple of sedans out no full size trucks that I've seen. Miserably cold and wind chill with gusts bringing the -3F to negative teens. Wisconsin River at Wisconsin Dells Dam is starting to lock up again below the breach and at the dam below Mexicali Rose, far from safe ice and with the traditional fluctuation and opening and closing dam gates, no guarantees...
