Days after resigning from Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Monday stepped up his attack on his Gandhis and said the grand old party had issue with him since the G-23 letter was written. The veteran politician said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an excuse, adding that he has been forced to leave his home.
"I was targetted for role in G-23. Only sycophants in Congress are targetting me," he said. Ghulam Nabi Azad is the fourth leader of the G-23 group to quit the party after Kapil Sibal, Jitin Prasada and Yoganand Shastri.
Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi's hug to PM Modi in Parliament, Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "It's not me who is entangled with Modi, it's him."
"They never wanted anyone to write to them, question them... Several (Congress) meetings happened, but not even a single suggestion was taken," he was quoted by ANI as saying.Azad, a Congress veteran who resigned from the party on August 26, is scheduled to reach Jammu on September 4. He has announced floating a new party beginning with Jammu and Kashmir where assembly polls are due.
