Jaroslav Doubrava (1909-1960) was a Czech Composer. From 1936 he studied composition with the composer Otakar Jeremiáš in Prague.
From 1945 he started working in the music department of Czechoslovak Radio in Prague. In the 1950s, probably in the worst period of the entire era of communist totalitarianism, he was asked to be removed from the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, which he joined in the revolutionary days of May 1945. Although Doubrava was not directly persecuted, he was practically ignored for the last 10 years of his life. His music was rarely played. He also left the radio and devoted himself entirely to composing until his untimely death. In the Prague Spring of 1968, he received the "in memoriam" award for his creative work.
