Julius Caesar is noted by historians as one of the most influential leaders in ancient history. Caesar's Gallic campaign lasted 8 years - greatly expanding the Roman Empire.
In 52 BC Caesar faced off against Vercingetorix; a Gallic chieftain who organized the independent tribes in Gaul and rose up against Roman Empire, protecting their lands and Celtic religion. The statues of Vercingetorix remain as some of the coolest in all of Europe.
Outnumbered, outpositioned, but not outmatched. The Battle of Alesia remains as one of Julius Caesar's most impressive military engagements.
