Kieren was one of the thousands that rose from the dead during The Rising four years ago. After the government's efforts to find a cure to turn the zombies back into functioning members of society, he returns to his family. His parents try their best to welcome him back into their lives, but his sister, now a member of an anti-zombie militia, doesn't want him in the house. Kieren must deal with the guilt of his past and integrate into a community that still wishes for his extermination.
