Ptuj Yearly Carnival in 2022
It’s actually pronounced ‘p-too-ee’
Was Extremely lucky to be here,
Sindibadian chance
last minute call (plan of Venice Carnival fell apart)
But this was just special and amazing!!!

First time in 3 years (because of covid)
Was Organized spontaneously by locals
After Slovenia lifting the tough covid restrictions just 5 days Earlier
When my traveling life became slightly cooler

TOP Slovenian Tradition:
Scaring the winter Away!
Seeing large hairy sheep monsters
dancing around, might sound strange..
don't worry
These folkloric figures are called “Kurents”
They’re meant to look terrifying
To scare off winter and evil spirits.

Came Back to Ptuj by Train
The Following Sunday
To Visit the Interesting Museums
& Enjoy the beautiful views and Town Quietly

I was Really Lucky Being in Slovenia
For one Month winter 2022
(way longer that planned)

What Really Helped !!!!
Was the New Green Weekend Discount
So I could Travel Trains and Buses
with Minimum 70% Reduced
Which meant many more exploration Trips!

Slovenian Museums are very Entertaining and Informative

Slovenia has so much to Offer
so Best of luck if you are visiting soon
Winter was great but I was there in Summer 2014 briefly too
and is definitely cheaper than Austria or Switzerland!
