The Board of Education is the official body representing the citizens of Akron on all matters of public education. The Board is non-partisan and non-sectarian. Its members are elected at-large for four-year terms. The Board of Education is responsible for: determining the needs and priorities of the school system, allocating resources within the school system, and evaluating the overall performance of the school system.
