This 1961 Porsche 356B Super 90 GT is one of 14 coupes manufactured in lightweight competition configuration with a 1.6-liter pushrod engine during two years of production and left the factory on March 23, 1961. Chassis 115381 was purchased new by Swedish rally driver Harry Bengtsson, who drove it to five class wins including back-to-back editions of the Rally to the Midnight Sun. The car was campaigned in ice racing during a brief subsequent ownership and was later purchased in 1978 by a 356 specialist who sold it to its next owner before performing a refurbishment during the 1980s. After an additional refresh in Germany, the car moved to the US in 2003 and subsequently appeared at various events through the 2010s before undergoing a refurbishment in Canada under current ownership between 2020 and 2022. Finished its factory shade of Ruby Red, the car is powered by a replacement 1.6-liter S90 flat-four that breathes through dual-throat Solex carburetors and is mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional features include aluminum opening panels, pull-up plexiglass side windows, 60mm finned drum brakes, silver-painted 15” wheels, a roll bar, and fixed-back bucket seats upholstered in black leatherette and gray corduroy. This Super 90 GT is now offered on dealer consignment in East Durham, North Carolina, as part of the Gruppe P Part V collection with a copy of its Kardex, Porsche Classic documentation, photos from its early rally career, and Ontario Registration
