The Last Forced Rhubarb Farm in Ontario! A 300-Year-old Tradition. Agriculture 2022

Today's video is about the very last Forced Rhubarb farm left in Ontario, Canada!!!! The Lennox Farm Forced Rhubarb is a delicacy among rhubarb connoisseurs, which includes restaurants, bakers, and rhubarb fanatics!!!! It is also sold at their Ontario Food Exchange booth in Toronto! There is nothing quite like a Forced Rhubarb pie, which has been popular since the 1700s. In England and Europe, Forced Rhubarb was highly prized, and when sugar became popular people couldn't get enough rhubarb pie!!!! It was particularly popular among the Royal gardens in England and Europe. Its famous tart and sweet flavor is like no other!!! I love rhubarb pie and I am just amazed at the way Lennox Farm is able to keep a 300-year-old tradition alive!!!!! I had no idea that in the 1700s they put rhubarb in caves to force it and how did they ever figure this out??? The wonderful thing about Forced Rhubarb is that is sweeter than field-grown rhubarb and requires less sugar when cooking it. The flavor is amazing! I really enjoyed learning more about Lennox Farm's history and the differences in farming equipment through the generations!! A big thank You to Lennox Farm!!! Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am an 18-year-old 4th-generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality.
