The "delayed" Bar Mitzvah celebration for the Holocaust survivors. This project gives them a chance to celebrate the Bar Mitzvah they never had in their young age, due to WWII or persecution in the former communist block. The survivors, usually around 70 of them, arrive to the Western Wall in Jerusalem as a group, together with their family members. Some of the IDF soldiers who are present at the Wall join in the ceremony.
Many thanks to the Jerusalem Western Wall Heritage Foundation for caring for the survivors and providing memories that will last for many years. Several survivors said it was an unforgettable day. Helping Hand Coalition for Israel
(עמותת יד לעזרה ישראל) is committed to providing this opportunity to many more groups from all over Israel.
