Today on our 2008 Ford F350, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Chain snow tire chains for dual tire trucks, part number TC4231CAM and that's tire size 2358017. These Titan snow tire chains are designed specifically for vehicles with dual tires. Now they feature a latter pattern, which is going to assist you in accelerating and stopping. They have a rounded twist link design, which is going to give you excellent traction in the snow and adequate traction on ice. Since they have a rounded design it's going to limit jarring compared to lengths with a square design. These chains have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles an hour and they come in a pair, one for each side.
Let's show you how easy they are to install. We're going to be installing the tire chains on the rear of our vehicle since that's what's most going to be driving it. You're going to want to first lay out the tire chains flat, check for any kinks or any broken lengths. You are going to want to make sure that the hooks are pointing up and the cams are in the unlocked position. We're going to go ahead and drape the chain over the tire now. When you're putting the chain on, you're going to want to make sure you get the center chain in the middle and try to get it as even as you can front to back and side to side. We're going to move to the back section and hook up the back first.
Simply take your hook and take your loose lengths and insert the lengths into the hook. Rotate it back and put the lock in keeper in place. The front does hook up the same way as the back. Take your lengths, put them through your hook, and secure them with the lock in tab. Now they are still a little loose, we're going to have to move the vehicle forward or backward to hook up the middle section to take up some of the slack.
Then we can go back and recheck for any adjustments as we need. Now the center simply has a simple hook and loose lengths at the bottom. With all our connections made, we can now start tightening out the cams. As you can see even with our cams tightened we still have a little bit of slack left in the chains. The manufacturer does recommend using a rubber tire adjuster. You can pick up two of them with part number TCMA2.
Now the way you install these, simply take the hook facing outward, connect it to the chain and just start connecting working your way around. That'll finish up our look at the Titan Chain snow tire chains for dual tired trucks part number TC4231CAM on our 2008 Ford F350.
