A quick fire business trip to London gave me only a short chance to grab a view of Abellio London’s take-over (from Go-Ahead in November 2021) of route 63 which currently is seeing Alexander Enviro400 City EV bodied electric buses with BYD running units added. I managed to capture 3405 at around 16:00hrs, already with the destination set for the return to King’s Cross, at the Honor Oak terminus as it used the turning area on Forest Hill Road at its junction with Wood Vale, Next day, finishing a little earlier, I managed a daylight capture, this time with 3418 and culminating in a short ride.
26 buses (plus three spare) are required for the 7 mile run to King’s Cross via Peckham. These buses form part of a trial by TfL to respond to improve passengers’ desire to have a better travelling experience and as a first for London, though not the rest of the country, a rear number display with destination, high backed seats, USB charging points on the seat backs, with a STOP button next to it.
