In CNC machining centers from the SCM/Morbidelli Group, solid wood is clamped using vacuum. Schmalz offers vacuum blocks that perfectly fit to the machines of SCM/Morbidelli. The vacuum clamps VC-S achieve enormous holding forces & extremely high dimensional accuracy.
In this video, doors and window frames are processed on the cnc machining center. The solid wooden workpieces are clamped on the vacuum blocks from Schmalz. The VC-S hose-free vacuum blocks were specially designed for CNC machining centers from SCM/Morbidelli. The vacuum blocks are mechanically prefastened on the bracket to secure them against slipping when workpieces are placed upon them. With vacuum, both the workpiece and the vacuum block are securely and precisely hold in place. The vacuum blocks VC-S can withstand high lateral forces.
The vacuum blocks are equipped with an elastomer suction plate. If the suction plate becomes damaged, it can be replaced with a new suction plate quickly and easily. This keeps the maintanance of the clamping system cost-effective and flexibel.
