Are you just starting your journey in the vast universe of Stanton? It can be a bewildering experience, with so much left unexplained. I remember my first day in Area 18; it felt like an overwhelming adventure. But fear not, it does get better with time—well, mostly.
In this video, I'll walk you through the essential steps to kickstart your journey in Star Citizen. If you followed the tutorial, you already know where to gear up. I highly recommend equipping yourself with some sturdy armor and an AR rifle to start. Don't forget to grab a multi-tool with a tractor beam attachment for handling packages and other items.
Stanton offers a variety of mission types from the get-go. While deliveries are a good starting point, I recommend them for honing your flying skills. However, our main focus in the beginning will be Mercenary missions. Be cautious, though; not all missions are suitable for beginners.
We're looking for missions that lead us to bunkers on planets, where we either eliminate hostile forces or defend the bunkers. Before setting out, make sure to accept the "call to arms" mission; it's an easy way to earn extra credits by taking down hostiles.
When exploring these bunkers, prioritize clearing out enemies before looting. You'll have a limited time window to gather items and exit safely before the guards and turrets turn against you and your ship.
The multi-tool with a tractor beam attachment becomes invaluable at this point. Before dragging enemy bodies, scout the bunker for red loot boxes. These boxes can contain valuable loot, from armor and gems to powerful weapons, including sniper rifles. Grab what you can and head to the lift.
Before ascending, unload your loot onto the lift if you need space, and have your multi-tool at the ready. Drop unnecessary weapons except for those you intend to keep. Then, proceed to place bodies on the lift. I like to leave my guns on the lift simultaneously, making it easier to grab more weapons when returning for additional bodies. However, you won't always make it out with all the guns.
While loading bodies, keep a close eye on the timer, which ticks down continuously. Aim to exit with at least 2 minutes to spare, whether that means transporting 3 or 4 bodies. Return to the surface quickly, transport the bodies to your ship, and leave the planet's atmosphere before the turrets spoil your efforts.
Efficiency is crucial. Be mindful of time, and don't be too greedy with packing your ship closer to the entrance. Many pilots have paid the price for being overly ambitious. Once you have bodies and weapons on your ship, head into space. There, transfer all items from each body into the vehicle storage and dispose of the bodies.
Remember to dispose of the bodies before heading to a space station. Star Citizen has a prison system, and trust me, it's no fun.
Now, with your loot in hand, head to a space station or a planet-side city hub to sell everything. And there you have it—a fantastic way for solo beginners to earn money in Star Citizen. This loop combines gunplay, looting, and travel, making it an engaging experience. Alternatively, if you're in a rush, you can skip the loot gathering and move on to the next bunker for a potentially quicker income.
As you level up your reputations, missions will become more lucrative and diverse. You can store some armor and weapons in local storage for those inevitable moments of defeat. Just remember, dressing like a hostile NPC in open space can put you in harm's way, as other players won't be able to tell the difference! So, play smart and enjoy your journey in Stanton.
