This was our second edition of our SMASH UP event and we are more than satisfied.
We had people coming from all over the world: Israel, Japan, United Kingdom, Russia, Germany... and we had a lot of people from our beautiful city of Hamburg. The Hip Hop Community was getting down.
This weekend started on Friday with some life changing Smash Up workshops. Thanks to everyone who joined those important lessons and shared good vibes, it was nice to get stronger together.
How could we describe Saturday? DOPE AF? FABOLOUS? SICK? LIT? We don’t know, cause probably there is no word, that can adequately describe so many positive emotions at the same time. Amazing Sidney won the Hip Hop Category. The final was intense and we would like at this point to give a major shout out to the younger Berlin generation Amagedon Crew. You guys are SICK. Hope to see you next year again. And Big Ups to our Brother BJ Piggo for creating this Vibe!
Winner B-Boy Noe for the second time!! He’s going to represent his Crew Vagabondz at the Taipei Bboy City World Final in Taiwan in December. He took the title and smashed up the place with his unique style and powerful moves. The Urban Smash Up Category was entertainment to the fullest. The audience loved you guys. This was our most challenging category and has nothing to do with a Trash-Style-Battle. We think a good dancer should be able to dance to every kind and genre of music, so we told our dope DJs Just A Kid and T-Sia to play a kaleidoscopic Smash Up. This is a fun category and a great challenge at the same time. Genres from Salsa, Jazz, Soul, Pop, Experimental, Funk - you name it. It worked out, people interpreted songs with their own unique dance style and shared a lot of vibes and inspiration. The Hey Smith Crew all the way from Japan won in the final. Congratulations, you guys killed it.
Our SUNday was really sunny. Everyone could feel those deep House vibrations and fell in love with DJ T-Sia’s music. Damn, we are speechless. PJay and Danny Son won the House category. You guys are a special and a beautiful combination. Congratualtions. Krump. Well. No words needed. People, if you haven’t seen the battles, you missed out. WOW. Aura, congratulations. You shared your whole passion with everyone on this day.
