We are beginning our gourd harvesting and Tina will discuss how and when to harvest gourds as well as how to dry and how to cure your gourds for crafting. Drying and curing gourds to use as crafting supplies opens the door to carving, paining, wood burning, and many other craft ideas. We grow birdhouse, apple, drum, and canteen gourds in the raised bed garden and traditional row garden from our own harvested gourd seeds. We will get into more on how to dry and cure gourds as part of this series. This is step one, how to and when to harvest your gourds, and get them ready to begin the drying and curing process.
