The famous Ada Pradaman sweet of Kerala, popular during the festival of Onam is also famous in Nagercoil. Ada Pradhaman also called Ada Payasam is made with Ada ( kind of a flat noodle made of rice and cut into small squares), coconut milk and palm jaggery.
Kanyakumari district (which includes Nagercoil) has a blend of Tamil and Kerala Culture. Nagercoil used to be part of the Travancore kingdom and later Kerala State. In 1956 Kanyakumari district along with Nagercoil merged with Tamilnadu State. Onam and Pongal are the two of the most popular festivals celebrated widely in the Kanykumari district.

Ada - (readymade packet) 100 gms
Palm Jaggery - 200 gm (scraped)
Cashew nuts - 15
Coconut pieces - handful (cut in to thin small pieces)
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 5 crushed
Maggi coconut milk powder – 100 grams in 2 cups of water
OR fresh thick coconut milk – 2 cups
